DLE is primarily used in flexographic printing plate production, where precision and repeatability are crucial. Laser engraving of elastomers using DLE ensures excellent quality, precision, and fast turnaround times.

3D Modification of Halftone Dots


Another advanced capability is 3D shaping of halftone dots. Parameters such as shoulder depth and dot profile can be controlled with micron-level accuracy, enabling realistic 3D effects. This precision is especially valuable in packaging design, decorative finishes, and high-end product detailing.

LAMS and Mechanical Techniques


The LAMS system (Laser Ablation Mask System), while effective for photopolymers, is not suitable for elastomers. Therefore, different approaches are used in elastomer engraving. Mechanical methods—such as milling—are also possible, but due to lower precision and higher risk of damaging the elastic surface, they are less common among professional elastomer engraving facilities.

What Materials Are Engraved? Rubber, Polyurethane, and Silicone


Rubber and natural rubber compounds are the classic materials for printing plate production. Their structure allows multiple impressions without distortion and provides excellent resistance to solvent-based inks.

Polyurethane offers outstanding mechanical durability and ease of processing, making it ideal for deep relief engravings.

Silicone, with its exceptional resistance to heat and chemicals, is perfect for specialized applications in the food, medical, and electronics industries.

Where Is Elastomer Engraving Used?

Engraving rubber or silicone jewelry, such as bracelets, rings, or pendants, has become a popular method of product personalization, especially in the fashion and outdoor sectors. The cost of such engraving can start from as little as 2.50 PLN per letter.
